Job summary

University of Konstanz invites applications for a predoc/postdoc position in Research Methods, Assessment, and iScience to conduct research, teach, and help with administration. English and German are working languages. There is potential to pursue a PhD or Habilitation, and applicants near completion are encouraged.

You will teach, develop methods for internet-based research, and co-mentor theses in a dynamic, international environment with opportunities to work across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology (predoc: Diploma or Master; postdoc: PhD) with good to very good grades.
• Strong analytical, conceptual and communication skills.
• Proficiency in English.
• Expertise in at least one of: Internet-based research methodology, Experimental behavioral science, Psychological assessment, Development of web/mobile/AI applications.
• Competent use of standard software and statistical software.
• Programming skills and affinity with social media/Internet welcome.

Responsibilities

• Jointly perform research and research-inspired teaching.
• Jointly develop methods and create or update applications for Internet-based research, open science and/or psychometric tests.
• Teach at least 2 hours per week.
• Co-mentor Bachelor and Master theses.

Job description

Reference No.: 2026/196. The start date is October 15th, 2026 or by agreement. The position is available initially for three years (predoc) or two years (postdoc).

The University of Konstanz is a dynamic and internationally successful research university with approximately 10,000 students. The successful candidate will integrate with Research Methods, Assessment, and iScience team to conduct research, teach, and help with administrative tasks. There will be opportunity to work towards achieving a PhD or the post-PhD degree “Habilitation” (or equivalent). Applicants near or with finished Habilitation or near finishing of their PhD are also welcome to apply. Working languages are English and German.
