Jobbeschreibung

About the Job

Bridgecom Semiconductors is a growing tech startup specializing in 5G solutions, with locations in Munich and Linz. We are actively looking for a motivated 5G NR Modem PHY DSP Engineer to join our team in Munich. This role requires a strong foundation in signal processing, algorithm implementation, and real-time modem optimization. You'll work closely with the Bridgecom RF, firmware, and algorithm teams across our sites to implement, optimize, and validate advanced baseband algorithms for next‑generation 5G NR modem platforms.

Your Responsibilities

As our DSP Engineer – 5G NR Modem PHY Implementation, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing advanced baseband signal processing algorithms on vector DSP and embedded DSP architectures for next‑generation 5G NR modem platforms
  • Translating floating‑point algorithm specifications into highly optimized fixed‑point implementations suitable for real‑time modem execution
  • Optimizing DSP implementations for SIMD/vector processing, memory bandwidth, latency, and power efficiency
  • Developing efficient implementations of critical receiver components such as channel estimation, equalization, MIMO detection, synchronization, and decoding
  • Performing algorithmic and architectural optimizations including quantization design, scaling strategies, pipeline optimization, and vectorization
  • Working closely with PHY algorithm teams, hardware architects, and firmware developers to ensure efficient algorithm‑to‑architecture mapping
  • Developing and maintaining DSP reference models and bit‑accurate fixed‑point models for validation of hardware and firmware implementations
  • Performing performance analysis, profiling, and optimization of DSP implementations on target platforms
  • Supporting pre‑silicon and post‑silicon validation, debugging algorithm behavior, and reproducing and resolving field issues
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of modem receiver performance and efficiency, including innovation in DSP implementation techniques
Your Profile
  • Strong background in digital signal processing and wireless communication systems
  • Hands‑on experience implementing algorithms on DSP processors, vector processors, or SIMD architectures
  • Strong experience with fixed‑point algorithm design, quantization, and numerical optimization
  • Experience in wireless communication algorithms (at least in one of the following areas)
    • Channel estimation and noise estimation
    • MIMO detection and channel equalization
    • Time and frequency synchronization
    • OFDM receiver processing
    • LDPC and/or Polar decoding
    • Beamforming and channel state feedback
  • Familiarity with 3GPP 4G/5G NR physical layer procedures and receiver processing chains
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ for embedded systems, and experience with MATLAB or Python for algorithm modeling and simulation
  • Experience optimizing algorithms for SIMD/vector execution and memory hierarchy
  • Familiarity with DSP development tools, profilers, and performance optimization techniques
  • Experience working with link‑level simulators and bit‑accurate reference models
  • Familiarity with software version control systems such as Git
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills for complex signal processing systems
  • Self‑motivated and capable of taking ownership of algorithm implementation and optimization tasks
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within cross‑functional engineering teams
  • Fluent in technical English communication
Education and Experience

Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field

Our Offer
  • The opportunity to work with the team on next‑generation 5G semiconductor technologies tailored IoT and automotive markets.
  • A dynamic start‑up environment with lean structures and high visibility.
