Cell Labs in Berlin is seeking a versatile motion designer to join our robotics team. You will prepare CAD data for high-quality renders, craft exploded views, and build convincing material shaders that read as real objects.

You will design motion graphics in our house style, edit footage, and optimize pipelines with AI tools, contributing to product visuals for our launch and outreach efforts.

Qualifikationen

We build humanoid systems: full stack, from hardware and electronics to software and manufacturing, all in-house in Berlin.

At Cell Labs, we push the boundary of what robotics can achieve. Our goal is clear: to build systems that empower humans, not replace them. Our technology is already deployed with industry leading customers and partners. Now, our own product is close to launch.

Aufgaben

• Get CAD ready for rendering: Turn heavy mechanical assemblies from engineering into clean 3D assets that render, animate and run in real time without falling apart. The hardware stands in our workshop, and the next machine is never far behind.
• Show what is inside: Exploded views, cutaways and assembly animations that explain the mechanics without a technical drawing, so customers understand the tech behind the product.
• Materials that look real: Build shaders for aluminum, stainless steel, glass, rubber, carbon, plastics, displays and LEDs, so a render reads as the actual object rather than as a render. Scenes, materials and rigs stay organized, so the next project does not start from zero.
• Motion design in a house style: Titles, typography, transitions, logo animation, and 2D animation for interface elements like animated displays and icons. It should look like us, not like a template pack.
• Editing and post: Footage from the workshop and tests, mixed with 3D work, becomes what we use on the website, on social, at trade shows and in investor meetings. Editing, grading, sound, subtitles, and a version that fits each channel.
• Put AI to work: You use AI and generative tools (e.g. comfy) where they actually save time, whether that is concepting, cleanup or upscaling. You keep testing what is new, keep what earns a place in the pipeline, and drop the rest.

Qualifikation

• Background: A degree in motion design, animation or media design, or a self taught route with a reel that makes the question pointless.
• Experience: At least two years of hands on work, whether from an internship, freelance jobs, a studio or your own projects. What the work looks like matters more to us than where it was made.
• CAD is not new to you: You have opened engineering data before and know roughly what happens when a heavy assembly meets a render engine.
• Reel: Hard surfaces, metal, glass and light. Even one personal project done properly tells us more than ten client jobs you only assisted on.
• Tools: Experience in Blender and Cinema 4D, Octane is a plus. After Effects and either Premiere for the cut.
• How you work: Hands on and fast to a first version. You get things finished instead of perfect, and you notice when a detail stops being worth the hours.
• Languages: Fluent English. Good German is a real plus.
