Job description

For a warm and welcoming private household with two lively girls aged 7 and 10, we are looking for a loving, reliable and experienced full-time nanny to join the family’s existing childcare team as soon as possible and on a long-term basis.

The single father has been supported by a nanny for the past three years. As the second nanny will be leaving the family at the end of the year, we are looking for a dedicated and caring professional to take over her position. You will work closely with the existing nanny, taking care of the two girls on an alternating weekly rota, with each handover taking place on a Monday.

Your Responsibilities

You will lovingly and attentively support the girls throughout their daily routines, ensuring they enjoy a reliable, structured and happy family life.

In the mornings, you will prepare breakfast, help the girls get ready for school and take them to school, which is approximately 15 minutes away. Depending on the circumstances, you can use a cargo bike, public transport or the family car.

In the afternoons, you will collect the girls from school. Depending on their schedules, the afternoons may include playing with friends, participating in school activities or enjoying extracurricular activities. In the evenings, you will prepare dinner for the family and gently guide the girls through their bedtime routines. The younger girl goes to bed at around 7:45 pm, while her older sister usually goes to bed at around 8:00pm.

You will also provide reliable support on school-free days, when the girls are unwell and during school holidays. Occasional babysitting is part of the role, usually one evening perweek.

Working Hours and Daily Routine

On regular school days, your working hours will generally be from 6:30 am to 9:00 am and from 3:00 pm until approximately 9:00 pm. During school holidays, on days when school is closed and when the girls are unwell, support will also be required during theday.

At weekends, working hours are generally between 8:30 am and 9:30 pm, by arrangement. The father is usually at home in the evenings and at weekends and only occasionally travels for short periods.

The family often spends school holidays in lovely holiday destinations, and one of the two nannies will usually accompany them. During the summer holidays, the nannies generally alternate in three-week blocks.

A housekeeper comes four times a week and takes care of the cleaning and most of the laundry. Occasionally, you may be asked to help with smaller household tasks, such as putting on a load of laundry for thegirls.

The father usually takes care of the weekly grocery shopping, although you may occasionally be asked to do this by arrangement.
