Zusammenfassung

BMW Group invites applications for a PhD researcher focused on world models and visuo-tactile foundation models for embodied robotics. You will develop multi-modal perception and learning for intelligent interactive systems and smart vehicles, working closely with an international team of AI/ML and robotics experts at the RoboTac Lab in Munich.

You will publish in top venues, apply your designs to robotic platforms, and leverage cutting-edge hardware and software resources provided by BMW Group

Qualifikationen

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Systems & Control.
  • Strong mathematical background and interest in robotics and robot learning.
  • Extensive practical software development experience in C/C++ and Python.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • At least one publication in top IEEE conferences (e.g., ICRA, IROS) or top journals.
  • Excellent communication in English; German is an advantage.

Aufgaben

  • Take the lead in developing multi-modal perception and learning for intelligent interactive systems and smart vehicles.
  • Implement and validate advanced frameworks in robotic systems and intelligent vehicles.
  • Collaborate with a highly specialized, international AI/ML and robotics team.

What should you bring along?

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Mathematics, Systems, and Control, or a related field froma top international university.
  • Strong mathematical background and a strong interest inrobotics and robot learning, Transfer Learning, machine learning, Deep Active Learning, Multi-modal Active Perception and Learning, AI-based Control Architecture, Human-Machine Interaction.
  • Extensive practical software development experience, preferably inC/C++andPythonrequired.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g.PyTorch,Tensorflow).
  • Having at least one publication in top IEEE conferences such as ICRA, and IROS or top journals such as T-RO, AURO, RAL, etc.
  • Efficient communication skills in English. German is an advantage.
