Contribute to a healthier society as part of the Institute of Diabetes Research and Metabolic Diseases (IDM). Our Metabolic Neuroimaging Department, led by Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Hubert Preissl, is seeking a PhD candidate in Human Neuroimaging and Nutrition Research (f / m / x).

We seek an enthusiastic scientist eager to work and grow in an interdisciplinary environment with neuroscientists, physicians, biomedical engineers, and psychologists.

Your tasks as a PhD candidate will include:

  1. Studying central nervous system processes and human eating behavior in volunteers at high risk of developing diabetes.
  2. Applying neuroimaging techniques, behavioral and metabolic measurements, and cognitive paradigms.

Your profile:

  1. MSc in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or Nutritional Sciences.
  2. Knowledge of statistical analysis (SPSS, R, SAS) and programming in MATLAB and/or Python.
  3. Experience in conducting human experimental research.
  4. Experience with functional magnetic resonance imaging and cognitive paradigms is advantageous.
  5. Ability to work independently and in teams, with excellent communication skills.
  6. Motivation for a scientific/academic career.
  7. Proficiency in English and German.

Remuneration is based on the German Collective Wage Agreement for Public-Sector Employees (EG 13 50% TV EntgO Bund). The initial contract is for three years, with potential extension.
