Our research team in the Experimental and Translational Ophthalmology Department at the University Medical Center of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz focuses on understanding mechanisms behind retinal and ocular surface diseases such as Dry Eye Disease, AMD, and Glaucoma.

This PhD position involves research on clinical and proteomic data in ophthalmic diseases, including glaucoma, with analyses of longitudinal, lateral flow, and microarray data.

Activities and Responsibilities

• Statistical analysis and evaluation of longitudinal and translational data
• Study design
• Programming, including AI applications
• Database maintenance and clinical data management
• Participation in lab management

Qualifications

• Diploma or Master’s in computer science or bioinformatics
• Scientific background
• Knowledge of SQL and Python
• Experience in network administration
• Proficiency in English
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to work independently and in teams
