Junior System Administrator - Linux (m/f/x)

Department: osapiens Hub

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Mannheim

Description

We are looking for a Junior System Administrator to help drive the development and optimization of our osapiens HUB. In this role, you will help to manage and enhance our infrastructure, automate deployments, and ensure our platform's reliability, scalability, and security.

The osapiens HUB is a cloud-based platform that helps businesses manage their sustainability, compliance, and transparency efforts more easily. The HUB offers ready-made software solutions that automate compliance with environmental and social regulations, helping businesses track and improve sustainability with minimal manual effort. It’s user-friendly, adaptable, and optimizes existing resources.
Think of it as an all-in-one toolkit for businesses looking to operate more sustainably while keeping up with legal requirements without getting bogged down in technical or administrative hassles.

This role is based in Mannheim, a vibrant tech hub at the heart of Germany, where you'll collaborate with a talented, forward-thinking team. We embrace a hybrid work model, with three days a week in the office, ensuring the perfect balance between in-person collaboration and remote flexibility.

  • Assist in ensuring the availability and scalability of infrastructure that supports internal tools and customer platforms
  • Help monitor and support customer environments, working to maintain system stability and performance

  • Contribute to automating infrastructure tasks using modern tools like ansible
  • Grow into a role that supports production cloud operations for international clients, with mentoring from senior colleagues

Your Experience

  • Completed training in IT (e.g., Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration) or relevant education/experience through internships or self-study
  • Basic experience working with Linux systems (Ubuntu preferred) - even if it’s just a homelab
  • Eagerness to learn technologies such as Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed cloud systems
  • Interest in monitoring and automation—bonus if you’ve played with tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or written some Bash scripts
  • Understanding of basic networking principles (firewalls, load balancing, etc.) is helpful
  • Independent, curious, and motivated to build hands-on experience in systems administration and cloud infrastructure
