About the Role

As Managing Editor – National & Regions, you will lead the strategic, editorial, and creative direction of Today FM and Ireland’s youth stations (SPIN 1038, SPIN South West, Beat, iRadio).

You will be responsible for delivering compelling, innovative, and audience-focused content across all platforms, ensuring each brand maintains its unique identity while contributing to a cohesive strategy at Bauer.

This is your opportunity to lead a portfolio of powerhouse brands, shaping what a new generation listens to, talks about, and shares.

What you will do:

  • Lead the Managing Editors across Today FM and the Youth Stations to deliver dynamic, high-quality content across platforms.
  • Design and implement content strategies to grow audience across Today FM and Bauer youth services through distinctive content offerings that maximize reach.
  • Lead and inspire content teams to deliver engaging and innovative content.
  • Champion talent development, nurturing emerging voices while supporting established presenters.
  • Ensure content reflects each station’s brand identity and aligns with broader business strategies.
  • Collaborate with commercial and marketing teams for impactful partnerships and promotions.
  • Monitor audience data and industry trends to inform programming decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with editorial, legal, and regulatory standards.
  • Represent the brands internally and externally, building stakeholder relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams like Finance, Digital, Marketing, and Commercial to support brand development.
  • This role involves some travel within Ireland.

What you will have:

  • Proven experience leading editorial teams in a multi-brand or national audio environment.
  • Experience delivering diverse content, including music formats.
  • A track record of audience growth and commercial success.
  • Understanding of market dynamics and audience behaviors.
  • Strong editorial judgment and creative vision.
  • Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of youth and adult contemporary audiences.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercial awareness and cross-functional teamwork experience.
  • Passion for audio, digital innovation, and audience engagement.
  • Strong work ethic and adaptability.
  • This is a full-time, permanent leadership role requiring regular on-site presence in Dublin and travel to regional locations.
