This position is for Nowtilus, a media tech company in which Equativ invested in 2022. Founded in 2007 in Berlin and Halle, Nowtilus is a pioneer in video advertising and personalization services with its award-winning Dynamic Ad Insertion Platform. The platform addresses compatibility issues in digital streaming and helps broadcasters, telcos, and publishers monetize their streaming platforms by offering seamless, personalized ad experiences. Nowtilus is also advancing HbbTV technology, leading the evolution of traditional broadcasting into IP datacasting opportunities.

Your Role

• Become a key member of our SaaS platform team, taking full responsibility for quality assurance tasks within our modern tech stack.
• As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be an integral part of our experienced Scrum team, building features from concept to production.
• Utilize state-of-the-art integration and end-to-end QA tools to enhance our microservice-based software system.
• Opportunity to engage with emerging technologies like Edge Computing, new frontend/backend frameworks, and AI.

Your Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product management and development teams to specify and improve tests for our software system, focusing on our Server-Side Ad Insertion platform.
• Translate manual tests into automated tests with the development and QA teams.
• Design and implement automated testing strategies and plans.
• Identify, document, and verify defect resolutions to enhance software quality.
• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and identify potential issues.
• Ensure timely completion of testing within budget constraints.

Your Skills

• Critical thinking to identify potential issues before market release.
• Proficiency in programming languages for merge request approval.
• Experience converting manual test cases into automation.
• Deep understanding of testing methodologies, including API testing (Postman, Newman), Cypress, and Playwright.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with developers and stakeholders.
• Attention to detail, proactive attitude, and ownership of tasks.
• Passion for technology and staying current with industry trends.

Experience

• Over 3 years of experience in software testing procedures.
• Proven ability to develop comprehensive test cases and scripts.
• Experience with manual and automated testing, bug reporting, and tracking.
• Knowledge of current testing tools and techniques.
• Participation in software review processes with stakeholders.
