Our client, a leading player in their industry, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Lead Procurement (indirect) to join and lead their growing procurement team in Koblenz. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the indirect procurement categories, managing a team of procurement professionals, and driving value through innovative sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of category managers and procurement specialists.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Category Strategy & Execution

  • Define and implement the software procurement strategy in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Oversee category planning, supplier segmentation, and spend analysis to drive long-term value.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key software vendors and partners.
  • Lead high-level negotiations, contract management, and performance reviews to ensure optimal service and cost efficiency.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders across IT, finance, legal, and operations.
  • Translate business needs into procurement strategies that support innovation and operational excellence.
  • Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to inform procurement decisions.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to software licensing, compliance, and vendor performance.

Performance & Reporting

  • Track and report on procurement KPIs, cost savings, and supplier performance.
  • Use data-driven insights to continuously improve procurement processes and outcomes.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, IT, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or professional certifications are a strong advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in strategic procurement
  • Proven experience managing indirect procurement categories in a corporate environment.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficient in procurement tools and analytic platforms.
