Role Overview

We seek an experienced Senior Java Developer with expertise in IBM z/OS mainframe environments, especially for online applications under CICS. The role requires developing high-performance, low-latency Java applications that run natively on z/OS and integrate with legacy systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize Java applications on IBM z/OS in online mode under CICS.
• Analyze and enhance JVM performance, focusing on memory, tuning, and CPU usage on z/OS.
• Integrate Java applications with native z/OS components using JNI, C/C++, and LE.
• Implement data access solutions with JDBC, SQLJ, and DB2 for z/OS.
• Collaborate with z/OS systems programmers, DBAs, and CICS developers.
• Monitor system metrics and review performance reports to guide tuning.
• Support automation and develop shell scripts for Java workloads on z/OS.
• Drive modernization initiatives using Java and hybrid models.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of Java development experience, with 5+ years on IBM z/OS.
• Deep knowledge of JVM performance tuning on z/OS.
• Proficiency with JNI, COBOL/C/C++, and LE.
• Experience with JDBC, SQLJ, DB2 for z/OS, and database performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with USS, JCL, TSO/ISPF.
• Knowledge of SMF, RMF, and performance analysis tools.
