Our Siemens Energy Intellectual Property department drives differentiation in intellectual property to gain a market advantage by building a strong IP ecosystem that protects our technologies and innovations. Within this framework, our trademark team plays a vital role in safeguarding the identity and reputation of our brands. As Senior Counsel (f/m/d) Trademarks, you will play a key role in shaping and protecting the global brand portfolio. Your day may begin with reviewing trademark clearance reports for new product names, advising marketing and business teams on brand strategy and risk mitigation, collaborating with colleagues across regions to coordinate filings, manage enforcement actions, and negotiate coexistence or license agreements. You might lead a call with external law firms on cross-border infringement cases or provide input on IP clauses in commercial agreements. Throughout the day, you act as a trusted advisor on trademark matters, monitor legal developments globally, and provide internal training and guidance to ensure our global brand assets are safeguarded and aligned with business goals.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of trademark law, including clearance, registration, enforcement, and litigation with a global scope
  • Manage and develop the company’s global trademark portfolio, including prosecution, oppositions, and cancellations
  • Partner with branding, product, and commercial teams to ensure brand protection and compliance in all jurisdictions, collaborating with colleagues in our global IP team and legal department
  • Draft and negotiate trademark-related agreements, including licenses, coexistence agreements, and settlements
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of external counsel globally to ensure high-quality, cost-effective legal support aligned with business objectives
  • Counsel and support IP aspects of M&A, joint ventures, and other initiatives

What You Bring

  • Fully qualified legal attorney, ideally admitted to the German bar (Zulassung als Rechtsanwalt / Rechtsanwältin)
  • Proven professional experience in trademark law, preferably in an international corporate or law firm setting
  • Deep understanding of EU, German, and international trademark law; additional experience is a plus
  • High proficiency in English; German and other languages are advantages
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills with intercultural sensitivity
  • Business-minded, proactive, team-oriented, self-motivated, capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
