We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Hardware Engineer (m/f/d) to join our fast-paced and dynamic Intelligent Solutions and Applications Team. At Agile Robots SE, we are shaping the future of robotics through hardware innovation. In this role, you will contribute to the research and development of advanced robotic systems by designing, building, and testing state-of-the-art hardware solutions for real-world applications

Your Responsibilities

Design and develop hardware systems for advanced robotic platforms, including sensor interfaces, power systems, and actuator control units

Participate in cross-functional robotics research projects and lead the hardware engineering efforts from concept to field deployment

Develop prototypes and perform studies to specify and validate key components such as sensors, circuit boards, and electromechanical subsystems

Create and maintain documentation for assembly, testing, and operation of hardware components and systems

  • Build and tear down test setups, field equipment, and robotic integration facilities to support research activities
  • Work with internal engineering teams, research collaborators, and external vendors to fabricate and assemble complex electromechanical systems
  • Lead and support field testing of robotic systems, including operating mobile robots and test hardware in real-world condition
  • Support the creation of user manuals and technical documentation for both existing and newly developed hardware
  • Fabricate mechanical parts using rapid prototyping tools (e.g., 3D printers, laser cutters, drill presses) as needed for testing and integration
  • Ensure all systems are safe, robust, and scalable for use in demanding research and industrial environments
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field
  • Minimum3 years of relevant experience in industry or applied research settings
  • Strong background in electromechanical systems and embedded hardware development
  • Proficient in hardware integration, system bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with rapid prototyping tools and techniques, and an understanding of small-scale manufacturing Ability to independently assemble, test, and iterate on hardware systems
  • Familiarity with basic software tools (C++/Python) to support hardware validation is a plus
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and documentation skills in English

Beneficial Skills

  • Experience with mobile robotic platforms or collaborative robot arms.
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian Jira, Confluence, or Git-based version control systems
  • Background in systems engineering or integration for research-driven environments
