Technical Project Manager – AI Projects (Robot Learning / Data Collection)(m/f/d)

About the role

As a Technical Project Manager in our AI Projects team, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of cutting-edge AI initiatives focused on robot learning and data collection. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage communication across diverse stakeholders, and drive continuous innovation at the intersection of AI and robotics.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Project Planning & Execution: Work closely with Product Management and Technical Leadership to define objectives, create detailed project plans, and ensure timely and efficient execution, including task allocation, scheduling, and resource management.
  2. Implementation of Results: Oversee the successful deployment and integration of project deliverables across global stakeholder locations, collaborating with industry partners as required.
  3. Stakeholder Communication: Act as the bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals, milestones, and progress.
  4. Team Coordination: Align cross-functional project teams within the AI department. Organize and facilitate team meetings and Agile ceremonies, ensuring adherence to Agile principles such as SCRUM or Kanban.
  5. Risk Management: Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and resolve issues to maintain momentum and meet deadlines.
  6. Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations, ensure timely troubleshooting, collaborate with engineering and AI teams to monitor system behavior, support iterative improvements, supervise routine robot operations involving human operators, guide and support operators in interacting with robotic systems, and train new personnel on system usage and safety procedures.
  7. Project Management: Demonstrated experience managing complex technical projects using Agile methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban), preferably in automation or robotics environments.
  8. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of translating technical concepts for varied audiences.
  9. Ownership & Drive: High level of initiative and accountability, with a proactive approach to managing technical deliverables from inception to deployment.
  10. Adaptability: Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving technology environments.
  11. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, ensuring thorough and precise project execution.
  12. Technical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of robotic systems, including sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces.
  13. Language: Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Beneficial Skills

AI Expertise: Solid understanding of AI principles, particularly in computer vision, and their applications in robotics.

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience.

Technical Tools: Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System), Python, and Linux-based environments.

Language Skills: Proficiency in Chinese is a significant advantage and will be considered a strong asset.
