Job Description:

About the role:

Airbus Defence and Space Cyber is seeking a Cyber Security System Engineer (d/m/w) to join our Solutions Development Team. The Cyber Division specializes in cyber security for defence and aerospace assets, with over 450 experts across Europe. We develop tailored cyber security products and solutions for defence, government, and institutional clients, supporting them throughout the system lifecycle.

Your location:

Our Ottobrunn/Taufkirchen location near Munich offers access to outdoor activities in the Alps and Lake Starnberg. Other locations include Immenstaad/Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance and Bremen near the North Sea.

Key responsibilities:

• Define security requirements and concepts
• Support cybersecurity system and network design
• Assess and select security products
• Develop and adapt secure system configurations
• Conduct vulnerability assessments
• Perform threat and risk assessments, simulate attack scenarios, and recommend remediation

Qualifications:

• Degree in computer science or vocational training in IT (e.g., IT specialist, Cybersecurity Specialist)
• Knowledge of security products and communication protocols
• Experience in system hardening and configuration
• Ability to define verification and validation procedures
• Knowledge of security concepts (Zero Trust, Secure by Default, Multilayer Security)
• Proficiency in system programming languages (PowerShell, Shell, Python)
• Good communication skills in English; German and Spanish are a plus
• Teamwork and structured, independent working style
• Knowledge of aerospace or safety-related domains is a plus
