Senior Quality Engineer – Embedded Systems

Role Overview

As a Senior Quality Engineer: Embedded Systems, you will be responsible for validating the performance, compliance, and reliability of embedded software in next-generation audio products. You’ll develop and maintain a robust test infrastructure, lead testing strategies, and work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure software integrity from development through release.

Key Responsibilities

•Conduct integration, performance, compliance, and release testing of embedded software components

•Identify, analyze, and document software issues

•Develop and maintain automated and manual testing frameworks for embedded systems

•Define test strategies, environments, and specifications independently

•Collaborate with development teams to analyze and resolve defects

•Produce test reports, assess software maturity, and coordinate final release approvals

•Plan and structure tasks across the QA team

•Document and present testing activities and results regularly

Key Requirements

•A technical degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

•Several years of professional experience in system or software testing for embedded platforms, especially under Linux

•Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, C, or C++)

•Strong understanding of hardware interfaces (e.g. I2C, SPI, UART) and network protocols (e.g. Ethernet)

•Advanced knowledge of embedded test methodologies, including ATPG, BIST, and memory test strategies is a plus

•ISTQB certification or equivalent testing qualification is highly desirable

•Strong problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills

•Fluent in both English and German (spoken and written)

•Comfortable working in agile development environments and presenting technical topics to diverse audiences

•A mindset of continuous learning, curiosity, and openness to new challenges
