We are seeking a strategic and people-focused Director of Products to lead our German development team responsible for all products within the German product portfolio. This includes the development and management of German payroll and reward solutions as well as those transversal corporate products introduced within the countries. This will initially include the implementation of a new real-time pay engine, deployment of standard integration technologies, deployment and localization of our standard Core HR product, workforce management, data and analytics and others as defined by our Portfolio teams. You will be managing the priorities in accordance with the business stakeholders and responsible for the local development teams.
In this senior leadership position, you will report to the Chief Product Officer and be a member of the Global Products Management Team. You will be part of the country management teamand contribute to the success of the German organization overall. You will also be a part of the wider senior leadership community in SDWorx.
Ideal Profile :
The role will be located in Germany, ideally Frankfurt area,Würzburg or Berlin,to allow easy access to customers and product teams.
The German product team comprises of 118 employees and 8 managers.
Your responsibilities :
- Define and drive the product portfolio together with your stakeholders : Define vision for the Tribe and the products working closely with our portfolio team (who define what products are deployed in what market) and the country leadership team.
- Make product lifecycle decisions (piloting, scaling, decommissioning, etc.), and software development (IP creation).
- Lead a people and product transformation towards a more modern architecture and ways of working to ensure a complete end to end digital experience for the customer.
- Managing the Tribe : Lead the formulation of the Tribe and Squads mission and goals, decide on the tribe's composition and headcount and work to assign budget to products to maximize value.
- Managing partners / vendors e.g., regarding outsourced services, ensuring alignment with all business stakeholders and be a point of escalation for business director / management teams and country leadership teams.
- Build capability in international development centres, including teams outside Europe, to deliver scalable and innovative solutions.
- Establish a strong product management team who will assist in planning and prioritising the work : Prioritise high-level epics, synchronise the product vision with Product Owners, Quarterly business planning in the Tribe for each country, preparing a Quarterly Business Review (QBR).
- Work closely with tribe leaders who own the transversal development teams (including infrastructure and cloud) to ensure the roadmap aligns with the country needs as is.
Your profile and added value :
To grow and be successful in this role, you will bring the following :
- The ability to show clear technology vision and purpose for the product of the country including architectural focus and clear technology roadmaps to deliver software used directly by our customers in a SaaS model as well as used by our internal teams.
- Proven experience in software product development within an international company.
- Strong understanding of both modern cloud-native technologies and legacy system transformation.
- Experience in payroll and HR technology is a strong advantage.
- Business understanding and acumen to ensure functional roadmap is aligned with portfolio goals and business growth targets.
- Inspire teams and employees to organise themselves in an agile way in order to reach targets and where teams and employees are inspired to embrace change and take ownership. Expertise in digital and working in a real agile environment is essential.
- Proven track record in driving cultural change and organizational transformation.
- The ability to share leadership responsibilities and to coach managers and employees in an environment of continuous learning.
- Being pragmatic, enabling, and motivational people leader.
- The ability to manage multi-dimensional, multi-country relationships and to influence at all levels.
- Experience in people management of technology resources in large organisations would be essential.
- Ability to speak German and English (to a high level) and to travel to the key offices on a regular basis.
