Escazú Contracting Management is seeking a freelance Video Editor & Social Media Manager based in Latin America. The ideal candidate edits short-form and long-form videos and manages the company’s social media channels, working remotely across LATAM.

Applicant must be fluent in English, with a strong portfolio and proven social media management experience. You provide your own equipment and editing software, and you’ll collaborate closely with a small team on a flexible freelance basis.

Mansioni

• Edit short-form videos (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) from raw footage provided by the team.
• Edit longer-form videos when requested (YouTube, internal or promotional videos).
• Add captions, subtitles, music, sound design, transitions and basic motion graphics.
• Adapt each video to the format and specs of each platform (vertical, square, horizontal).
• Deliver within the agreed turnaround time and handle revision rounds.

Position overview

We are looking for a freelance Video Editor & Social Media Manager based in Latin America to edit short-form and long-form video content and manage our social media channels.

• Type: Freelance / independent contractor
• Location: 100% remote, Latin America only
• Language: Fluent English required (about 80% of daily communication is in English); Spanish is a plus
• Equipment: Candidate provides their own computer, editing software and internet connection

Key responsibilities

• Edit short-form videos (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) from raw footage provided by the team
• Edit longer-form videos when requested (YouTube, internal or promotional videos)
• Add captions, subtitles, music, sound design, transitions and basic motion graphics
• Adapt each video to the format and specs of each platform (vertical, square, horizontal)
• Deliver within the agreed turnaround time and handle revision rounds

Social media management

• Plan and maintain a monthly content calendar
• Schedule and publish posts across the company's social media accounts
• Write captions and hashtags in English (and Spanish when needed)
• Monitor and respond to comments and messages
• Track performance (reach, engagement, followers) and send a monthly results report
• Stay current with platform trends and suggest new content ideas

Requirements

Must have

• Based in a Latin American country
• Fluent English, spoken and written (about 80% of communication is in English)
• Portfolio or reel with short-form video work you edited yourself (Reels, TikTok, Shorts)
• Proven experience managing social media accounts for a brand or business
• Proficiency in at least one professional editing tool: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut
• Own computer capable of video editing, plus a stable internet connection
• Able to work independently, meet deadlines and communicate proactively

Nice to have

• After Effects or other motion graphics skills
• Experience with Canva or graphic design for posts
• Experience with scheduling and analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, Metricool, Hootsuite)
• Experience with AI tools for video or content creation

Compensation and engagement terms

Fixed fee of USD, negotiable based on experience and portfolio, paid in USD.

Included in the monthly fee:

• Short-form video edits per month: number to be defined
• Management of the company's social media accounts (platforms to be defined)
• Monthly content calendar and results report
• Revision rounds and turnaround time agreed per deliverable
• Paid test project before final hiring decision
