Amgen is seeking a Staff Relations Manager to provide expert employee relations guidance to managers and staff across LATAM and Canada. The role partners with HR Leaders, Compliance, Legal and other HR teams to protect Amgen values and ensure compliant practices.

Responsibilities include investigations, coaching, performance and discipline considerations, and maintaining case documentation. Strong English/Spanish communication and knowledge of employment laws are essential.

Formación

  • Master’s degree or higher in HR, IR, or related field.
  • 4+ years in Employee Relations for those with a Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2+ years in Employee Relations for those with a Master’s degree.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, strong communication skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Provide expert employee relations guidance to LATAM and Canada managers and staff.
  • Investigate HR policy violations with thorough, confidential approaches.
  • Partner with HR, Compliance, Legal for compliant ER practices.
  • Document cases in the case management system and support process improvements.
  • Deliver training on HR policies, investigations, and respectful workplace behavior.

Staff Relations Manager

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for providing expert employee relations guidance and support to managers and staff across Amgen’s Latin America region and Canada.


Staff Relations is a specialized Human Resources function that partners closely with regional HR Leaders, Business Managers, Compliance, Legal, other HR Centers of Excellence and team members to protect Amgen values, investigate potential violations of HR policies, provide practical advice and guidance on coaching staff and managers, and advise on performance and behaviors management, discipline, involuntary terminations, and workplace accommodations.


  • Provide practical and legally appropriate staff relations guidance on performance management, disciplinary action, and workplace conflict to HR partners and business leaders in LATAM and Canada. Participate in termination discussions and corrective actions with staff and leaders as needed
  • Conduct and document thorough, impartial, unbiased, and timely HR investigations, maintaining confidentiality and objectivity. Determine findings of facts and violations of policy and prepare clear, concise investigation summaries and supporting documentation to support these findings
  • Partner with local HR Business Partners and Staff Relations team to ensure culturally nuanced and compliant ER practices
  • Track and update cases in the company’s case management system
  • Assist the Regional Staff Relations Lead in implementing process improvements, training, and ER best practices
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Learning & Development teams to deliver training on HR policies, investigations, and respectful workplace behaviors

What we expect from you

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The Staff Relations Manager we seek is a professional with these qualifications:


Basic Qualifications:

Master’s degree and 2 years of Employee Relations experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Employee Relations experience

Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish with excellent written and oral communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Human Resources background with 4+ years of experience in Employee Relations
  • Experience advising on performance management, disciplinary actions, and involuntary terminations of employment
  • Knowledge and experience of employment laws and ER practices across LATAM and Canada
  • Experience conducting internal HR investigations
  • Ability to learn and fairly apply company policy, investigation procedures, and regulatory guidelines within scope of duties
  • Experience working across different countries and cultures, with a commitment to educating oneself on cultural norms and varying laws
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling complex and confidential matters
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, Teams\/WebEx, Workday, and case management systems such as EthicsPoint
