Job summary

Sezzle is seeking a curious Site Reliability Engineering Intern to learn how large‑scale systems are built, deployed, and maintained. You will work with engineers to support infrastructure, enhance reliability, and contribute to automation in a fast‑paced environment.

The role emphasizes hands‑on cloud work (AWS, Kubernetes) and exposure to AI‑driven tooling, with a focus on developing scalable, observable systems and writing reusable automation scripts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed degree in CS/Engineering.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Familiar with at least one programming language (Go or Python).
• Knowledge of databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) helpful.
• Exposure to containers (Docker) and/or Kubernetes.
• Experience with Claude or similar LLM tools is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building, maintaining, and improving infrastructure systems using Kubernetes and AWS.
• Monitor system performance and help troubleshoot production and staging issues.
• Contribute to observability with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
• Help automate repetitive tasks and improve developer workflows.
• Participate in on-call shadowing and incident reviews to learn reliability practices.
• Work with engineers to identify bottlenecks and improve performance and scalability.
• Contribute to documentation and operational runbooks.
• Explore AI and automation tools to boost productivity.
