Job description

A bit about us

At Placemakr, home meets hospitality. We've combined the best of apartment living, vacation rentals, and hotel stays into one experience. We partner with developers, property operators, and investors to curate a collection of apartment-like spaces in hand-picked neighborhoods. Our tech-enabled buildings create one-of-a-kind guest experiences and add tremendous value to the underlying real estate. Whether guests are with us for a night, a year, or somewhere in between, these are more than just spaces to spend the night - they're a place to call home.

Our property team members help our buildings thrive by focusing on execution and ensuring a great experience for both residents and guests. Our non-property team members support property execution and the evolution of other areas within our platform. They can enjoy remote-first work with the freedom to choose their location - as long as they have access to a workspace and reliable Wi-Fi. We believe collaboration is key, so our remote-first teams and property leaders have biannual in-person get-togethers at various locations across the US.

From corporate non-property team members to our property teams and leaders, we’re looking for collaborative, driven individuals to join us as we continue to expand our presence.

The Sr. Specialist, Field Projects serves as a highly trusted operational resource responsible for executing high-priority operational initiatives across Placemakr’s property portfolio. This role provides hands-on field support for special projects, operational transitions, compliance initiatives, property stabilization efforts, and cross-functional operational execution.

This individual is a highly skilled operator who thrives in dynamic environments and can quickly assess operational needs, prioritize action, and drive execution. The role partners closely with property and corporate teams to support operational consistency, resolve issues in real time, and ensure successful implementation of company initiatives across the portfolio.

The Sr. Specialist, Field Projects is a senior individual contributor role focused on operational execution, field deployment, compliance support, and project implementation. This position does not have direct people management responsibilities but serves as a key operational partner and subject matter expert supporting property operations and special initiatives throughout the organization.

What You'll Do
  • Travel up to 90% of the time to provide on-site operational support across the property portfolio
  • Serve as a boots-on-the-ground operational resource for special projects, operational transitions, compliance initiatives, and high-priority business needs
  • Execute operational initiatives and support consistent implementation of company standards across properties
  • Partner with property and corporate teams to support operational execution, issue resolution, and project deployment
  • Support property openings, transitions, stabilization efforts, and operational recovery initiatives as needed
  • Serve as a visible advocate for operational audits, compliance initiatives, brand standards, and process adherence across the portfolio, setting the standard through consistent execution and leadership by example
  • Identify operational gaps, elevate risks appropriately, and help drive timely resolution of issues in the field
  • Exemplify and drive the execution of new operational initiatives, tools, workflows, and property-level processes across the portfolio, consistently modeling operational excellence and successful adoption
  • Collaborate cross-functional with Property Support, Operations, Training, People Experience, Revenue Management, and other internal teams to ensure successful execution of projects and initiatives
  • Utilize operational systems and reporting tools including project management platforms, SharePoint, HubSpot, Guestway, Apaleo, various access control systems, LMS systems, PowerBI, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with property leadership, Property Operations leadership, and corporate stakeholders regarding project progress, operational needs, field observations, risks, and opportunities
  • Adapt quickly to changing operational priorities and support evolving business needs across the portfolio
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
What It Takes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of hospitality, property operations, field operations, or operational support experience required
  • Previous experience supporting multi-property operations, hotel operations, openings, transitions, or operational stabilization efforts strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to execute operational initiatives in fast-paced, evolving environments with a high sense of urgency and accountability
  • Strong operational judgment with the ability to quickly assess situations, identify priorities, and take action
  • Experience supporting operational compliance initiatives, audits, brand standards, and process adherence
  • Proven ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities with minimal oversight
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively partner with property and corporate stakeholders
  • Experience utilizing operational systems and business tools including Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, LMS platforms, CRM systems, project management tools, PowerBI, or similar systems
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships across teams and support cross-functional operational initiatives
  • Comfortable working in dynamic operational environments with extensive travel requirements
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and execution-focused with the ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment
