INGEPSY seeks a Latam Research Analyst in Bogotá to structure and coordinate the regional research function for Latam coffee markets, collaborating with trading and research teams across the region and Geneva.

You will enhance data quality and analysis on Latam coffee supply and demand, produce regional forecasts, maintain hedge matrices, verify production cost estimates, and develop time-series models to support trading decisions.

Formación

• Preferred degree in math and science (Math, Statistic, Physics, Engineering) or Economics.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Knowledge in programming language (preferred Python) and SQL.
• Experience with data analysis.
• Experience with statistics techniques.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate regional research with trading/research personnel across Latam and Geneva.
• Improve data quality and analysis related to Latam coffee supply and demand.
• Produce Latam coffee supply and demand forecasts.
• Maintain hedge matrices tracking price risk from farmer to hedger.
• Verify accuracy of cost of production estimates and model historical time series.
• Develop forecast models for coffee consumption, exports, production and farmer behavior.
• Optimize data maintenance and update processes.
• Propose trading recommendations from analysis of stocks/use, net supply and demand balances; identify correlations with price series.
• Lead Latam analytics: propose strategies, contribute to strategy debates, and review implementation.

• Structure and coordinate the regional research function - working closely with our trading/research personnel throughout the region and Geneva.
• Support the research team on the improvement of data and analysis related to Latam coffee supply and demand
• Produce the supply and demand for coffee for the Latam region
• Maintenance of hedge matrices tracking the flow of flat price risk from farmer to hedger
• Verify the accuracy of cost of production estimates, and model historical time series accordingly.
• Develop forecast models to predict coffee consumption, exports, production and farmer behavior
• Optimize the current process of data maintenance and update;
• Propose trading recommendations through analysis of stocks/use, net supply and demand balances etc. Identify significant correlations between balance sheet movements and relevant price time series
• Act as the lead analyst for the Latam complex. This involves proposal of strategies in view of the supply and demand outlook, contribution to the debate of proposed strategies, formulation of conclusions and review of strategy implementation.
