Monks Technology Services, part of Media.Monks and S4 Capital, is hiring a Full Stack Engineer (Python + React) in Colombia. You will own features across backend and frontend, collaborating with product managers and senior engineers to shape architecture and bring the product vision to life.

You will build and maintain API-driven services, work on scalable architectures, and write thorough tests to ensure reliability in a fast-paced agile environment.

Formación

• 8+ years of professional software development experience building complex, large-scale applications.
• 3+ years of professional Python experience building production-grade APIs and backend services.
• 3+ years of professional React experience, including state management and testing tools.

Responsabilidades

• Build maintainable backend services and APIs in Python and modern user experiences in React, with a balanced focus across the stack
• Collaborate with Staff Engineers and Product Managers to define and refine the architecture of a new product
• Own the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of features from concept through production
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and system reliability
• Translate business needs and product requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Identify technical challenges proactively and drive practical solutions with minimal oversight
• Contribute to architecture decisions, engineering standards, and development best practices
• Adapt to changing priorities and deliver effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Other duties as assigned

About the Role

As a Full Stack Engineer (Python + React), you’ll be a foundational member of a new product team, building high-quality software from the ground up. You’ll own complex features across the database, backend, and user interface while collaborating with product managers and senior engineers to shape architecture and bring the product vision to life.

About You

Qualifications & Skills

• 8+ years of professional software development experience building complex, large-scale applications; 14+ years preferred
• 3+ years of professional Python experience building production-grade APIs and backend services
• 3+ years of professional React experience, including strong knowledge of modern frameworks, state management, UI libraries, and testing tools
• Demonstrated ability to build and own full-stack features from database design through frontend implementation
• Strong commitment to comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Proactive, self-directed, and solutions-oriented approach with a strong “gets-it-done” mindset
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and solve complex problems independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical ideas to diverse audiences
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB preferred
• Hands-on experience with Docker and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins preferred
• Professional Node.js experience preferred
