Abbott in Colombia is seeking a Database Specialist to support the stability, performance, and security of Microsoft SQL Server environments. The role covers routine DBA tasks, incident resolution, deployments, and governance in a global setup.

Required are a CS/IT degree and 1–4 years with SQL Server, plus T-SQL, backups, and security basics. This is a hybrid position with opportunities to grow in a large healthcare technology company.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field.
• 1–4 years of experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Knowledge of T-SQL querying and database fundamentals.
• Understanding of backup, recovery, and maintenance processes.
• Familiarity with indexing, query performance and optimization concepts.
• English proficiency for global collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Execute routine database administration tasks including backups, restores, and integrity checks.
• Monitor SQL Server health, performance, availability, and storage capacity.
• Support patching, deployments, and change management processes.
• Respond to incidents, troubleshoot failures and performance issues.
• Assist with schema changes and database migrations.
• Support application releases and non-production environment activities.
• Maintain operational documentation and SOPs.
• Identify slow queries and apply basic performance tuning.
