A growing fintech company in Colombia seeks an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to enhance their core payment platform. You'll be responsible for developing testing tools, improving test coverage, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality releases. The ideal candidate will have experience with various programming languages, automated testing frameworks, and a solid understanding of quality assurance principles. Formación

Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Repay is a fast‑growing, publicly traded fintech company offering modern payment solutions such as credit/debit processing, ACH, instant funding, and mobile bill pay.

We’re hiring an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help expand our core payment platform. In this role, you will develop testing tools, improve test coverage, and act as a subject‑matter expert within a small, agile team. Experience with diverse tech stacks and adaptability are key, as our systems evolve quickly.

Responsibilities

• Developing and supporting code for a homegrown test harness/framework, becoming a subject‑matter expert on the platform.
• Collaborating with Quality, Development, and Product to evaluate gaps in test coverage and ensure high‑quality releases on a regular cadence.
• Developing automated test solutions for unit, system, integration, performance, data‑integrity, and UI.
• Analyzing test failures and reporting detailed bugs when necessary.
• Deploying builds to cloud‑based and on‑prem technologies.
• Assisting with CI/CD pipelines and metrics.
• Testing integrations with partner applications across multiple languages and performing code reviews.
• Providing mentoring on Quality principles and unit‑test patterns for development teams.
• Evaluating new technologies to ensure our test methods follow industry best practices.
• Delivering Quality‑related metrics and presentations to the Quality Center of Excellence on new developments.

Must‑Have

• Several years of developing applications and test patterns.
• Experience with multiple languages and Cypress.
• Experience with multiple database types.
• Experience scripting (Bash, PowerShell).
• Strong Quality fundamentals and best practices.
• A track record of developing modern test frameworks.
• Knowledge of testing types including Web UI, API, and performance.
• Understanding of Martin Fowler’s Test Pyramid and shift‑left principles.
• Experience testing highly available systems.
• Strong understanding of application security.
• Ability to see larger business goals beyond the team.
• Experience developing test‑data solutions.

Nice to Have

• Payment processing and ACH standards background strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with NACHA.
• Fintech experience and familiarity with PCI compliance.
• Experience with continuous integration and automated build tools such as Jenkins.
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, SNS, Lambda).
• Experience with microservices.
