Abbott is seeking an experienced SDET/Test Automation Engineer to design and implement automated testing across .NET 6 to .NET 10 modernization efforts. You will collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and the Tech Lead to build scalable frameworks, improve quality, and ensure reliable releases throughout the lifecycle.

The role demands strong framework design, hands-on automation, API validation, and integration into CI/CD processes.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET), Test Automation, or QA engineering roles.
• Strong experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with Playwright or similar modern test automation tools.
• Experience testing web applications built with .NET, React, and TypeScript technologies.
• Experience validating REST APIs, integrations, and backend services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Experience working with Git-based repositories, Jira, and Agile development teams.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, defect management, and quality assurance best practices.
• Ability to analyze technical requirements and translate them into scalable automated test coverage.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills within cross-functional engineering teams.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and document software defects and quality issues.
• Validate application upgrades, dependency updates, and compatibility changes introduced during modernization.
• Execute test automation against web applications, APIs, and supporting services.
• Analyze test results, provide quality metrics, and communicate risks to project stakeholders.
• Promote test automation best practices and continuous quality improvement across both development squads.
• Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including (automated) test plans, test cases, test results, defect tracking, and release readiness.

Job Description

The SDET / Test Automation Engineer will be responsible for manual testing as well establishing and executing the automated testing strategy supporting the modernization of enterprise applications from .NET 6 to .NET 10. This role will work closely with developers, QA engineers, and the Tech Lead to build scalable test automation frameworks, improve software quality, and ensure reliable releases throughout the project lifecycle. The SDET will play a key role in validating application functionality, reducing regression risk, and supporting continuous delivery initiatives.
