PayJoy, a Public Benefit Corporation, seeks a Software Engineer to advance our locking technology and data-driven credit products for emerging markets. You will contribute to app design, frontend and backend development, and partner API integrations.

You will work with global engineering teams, mentor junior colleagues, and help deliver secure, scalable software to millions of customers.

This full-time role in Bogotá offers an indefinite-term contract and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in financial technology services.
• Proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies: PHP, Java, Javascript/Vue/AngularJS, HTML, CSS, SQL.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Being a team player, including review, pair programming, collaboration in one task, mentoring or being mentored.

Responsibilities

• Code software primarily in PHP, Javascript/Vue/AngularJS, HTML, CSS. Design, implement, test, debug, and deploy features and services from product specification.
• Work with the Product team to deliver code that addresses business needs.
• Use and manage relational SQL databases; perform CRUD operations.
• Design and implement database schema changes to support new features.
• Build data driven products and APIs for real-time data delivery.
• Grow the engineering team; provide mentorship and documentation for new engineers.
