Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Python AI Engineer in Colombia to design and ship production-ready intelligent applications. You will work on multi-agent orchestration, MCP integrations, RAG pipelines, and ensure robust observability and security across deployments.

You will collaborate with global teams to translate business needs into scalable, maintainable AI systems, mentoring junior engineers and driving architectural decisions for long-term success.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Python software engineering experience of 3+ years with AI systems in production.
• Experience architecting multi-agent workflows and orchestration.
• Proficient with MCP integrations and RAG pipelines.
• Strong prompt engineering and safety guardrails knowledge.
• Familiarity with knowledge graphs, AWS Bedrock, and Vertex AI.
• Good English communication (B2+).

We are building a team around a Senior Python AI Engineer to ship production-ready intelligent applications that tackle business goals and deliver value to end users. You will work with multi-agent orchestration, MCP, and RAG while strengthening evaluation, observability, and security across deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable software solutions powering intelligent, data-driven applications
• Turn complex technical concepts into practical systems that support organizational goals
• Collaborate across functions to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following industry best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues throughout the software development lifecycle
• Take part in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to fellow engineers
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies to suggest improvements to existing systems
• Contribute to architectural decisions shaping the long-term technical direction of projects
• Mentor junior team members and share technical knowledge across the organization
• Ensure solutions are designed for scalability, performance, and maintainability

Requirements

• Hands-on Python software engineering experience of 3+ years with a history of designing, building, and operating reliable Artificial Intelligence systems and intelligent applications in production environments
• Deep expertise in architecting and implementing stateful multi-agent workflows, autonomous agentic systems, and multi-agent orchestration using LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, Google ADK, and the AWS Strands Agents SDK
• Practical experience working on Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations
• Hands-on skill with building and maintaining Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines
• Strong prompt engineering ability to optimize interactions with language models
• Experience implementing guardrails to keep AI systems safe and controlled
• Familiarity with knowledge graphs and their application within AI-driven systems
• Experience integrating foundation models through AWS Bedrock and GCP Vertex AI
• Ability to ensure strong evaluation, observability, and security practices across production AI deployments
• Decent communication skills with working English fluency (B2 level or higher) to understand business requirements and translate them into agentic architectures
