Job summary

Bluelight Consulting is seeking an experienced senior software developer with backend focus to design and build scalable services. You will leverage Node.js/TypeScript, React, and AWS to deliver low-latency APIs for diverse clients.

Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, multi-tenant security, and robust testing is required. This role supports remote work with overlap to US business hours and offers growth in a rapidly expanding consultancy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development (backend-focused)
• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs
• Experience with SDK integrations to other services
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB including Row-Level Security
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments
• Proficient in writing raw SQL and migrations (node-postgres, node-pg-migrate)
• Professional experience with React
• Strong testing practices including integration tests against real databases
• Experience using AI coding assistants in daily development
• CI/CD implementation and maintenance skills
• Solid full-stack understanding with frontend contribution when needed
• Experience with large, complex systems
• Ability to overlap US business hours
• Bachelor's degree required

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services with Node.js/TypeScript for scalable APIs
• Build and maintain low-latency services in AWS
• Implement secure, multi-tenant data models with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB
• Collaborate on RESTful APIs and SDK integrations
• Contribute to frontend when needed and ensure full-stack quality
• Write and maintain tests including integration tests against real databases
• Utilize AI coding tools to improve developer efficiency
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deploys
• Follow best practices and robust documentation
• Overlap US business hours for client collaboration
