Bluelight is seeking a senior backend-focused software engineer to design and develop high-quality applications. You will work with Node.js, TypeScript, and React in a fast-paced consultancy environment.

The role involves building low-latency AWS-backed services, secure multi-tenant systems, and scalable RESTful APIs. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree and demonstrates ownership, strong problem-solving, and collaborative skills across US hours.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional software development experience (backend-focused).
• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS.
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SDK integrations to other services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments.
• Experience writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (node-postgres, node-pg-migrate).
• Professional experience with React.
• Strong testing practices including integration tests against real databases and fault-injection testing.
• Experience working with AI coding assistants in daily development.
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills.
• Solid understanding of full stack development with frontend contributions.
• Background with large, complex systems.
• Ability to overlap US business hours.
• Extreme ownership and accountability for deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to backend services and APIs using Node.js/TypeScript.

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices.
