Job summary

AppGate Cybersecurity, Inc. seeks a Fraud Prevention Advisor to lead strategic fraud prevention conversations with financial institutions across Latin America, shaping tailored solution strategies and supporting new business and renewals.

You will translate fraud trend research into presentations and training, create client-ready content, represent the company at regional forums, and collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Product and Marketing to inform positioning and roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of fraud prevention experience in a financial institution or risk solutions provider.
• Deep knowledge of digital fraud typologies affecting banks and fintechs.
• Experience leading strategy-level conversations with senior stakeholders.
• Experience creating and delivering fraud-related presentations and training.
• Fluent Spanish and professional English.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Job description

The Fraud Prevention Advisor is the strategic fraud prevention expert for the 360 Fraud Protection business in Latin America. Sales and Customer Success teams engage this person whenever a client needs a strategy-level conversation about fraud prevention — understanding the institution’s pain points and shaping a solution strategy tailored to financial institutions. The role has a direct influence on new business and renewals across strategic accounts, and positions AppGate as an industry reference through fraud trend research, training content and speaking engagements at leading fraud prevention forums in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic client advisory: Lead strategy-level (not functional or technical) fraud prevention conversations with financial institutions across the strategic account portfolio, identifying pain points and articulating tailored solution strategies.
• Deal and renewal support: Partner with Sales, Strategic Accounts and Customer Success teams on demand to help close new business and secure renewals across multiple accounts in the region.
• Fraud trend intelligence: Continuously research emerging fraud trends, typologies and attack patterns affecting financial institutions in LatAm.
• Sales and CSM enablement: Translate fraud trend research into presentation material and supporting content used by Sales and Customer Success in client meetings.
• Training content: Design and develop fraud prevention training courses for internal teams and clients, leveraging instructional design tools and AI.
• Industry representation: Represent AppGate as a speaker at leading fraud prevention forums and events across LatAm, reinforcing the brand’s credibility and positioning in the region.
• Market feedback: Bring insights from clients and the market back to Product and Marketing to inform positioning and roadmap priorities across 360 Brand Guardian, 360 Risk Control and 360 Adaptive Authentication.
• 5+ years of experience in fraud prevention, fraud risk management or fraud strategy, within a financial institution or at a fraud prevention / risk solutions provider.
• Deep knowledge of digital fraud typologies affecting banks and fintechs (e.g., account takeover, social engineering, phishing and smishing, brand and executive impersonation, mule accounts).
• Proven ability to lead consultative, strategy-level conversations with senior stakeholders (heads of fraud, risk, security and digital channels) and influence buying decisions.
• Experience creating and delivering fraud-related presentations, training or educational content.
• Strong public speaking skills and comfort representing a company at industry events.
• Fluent Spanish and professional proficiency in English.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Latin American financial sector and an established network within the regional fraud prevention community.
• Familiarity with fraud prevention technologies such as transaction risk scoring, device and behavioral intelligence, strong/adaptive authentication and digital risk / brand protection.
• Knowledge of regional regulatory requirements related to fraud and digital channels in financial services.
• Experience using AI tools for research, content creation and instructional design.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CFE – Certified Fraud Examiner).
