Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Senior/Lead DevOps Engineer to deploy and operationalize a new Kubernetes-based cloud environment on AWS for a short-term project.

You will lead deployment efforts, ensure security and reliability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across application, infrastructure, and security domains. The role requires deep Kubernetes/EKS/Helm expertise, Terraform and GitLab CI/CD experience, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering.
• 4+ years Kubernetes in production.
• Experience deploying AWS-hosted applications.
• Experience leading technical implementation efforts with minimal supervision.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes, EKS, and Helm.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment of a new cloud environment within AWS or other Cloud provider.
• Ensure deployment follows security, reliability, and operational best practices.
• Partner with application, infrastructure, security, and operations teams throughout the implementation.
• Deploy and manage workloads running on Kubernetes platforms.
• Troubleshoot cluster, networking, ingress, storage, and workload issues.
• Support application modernization and containerization efforts where needed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior/Lead DevOps Engineer to deploy and operationalize a new Kubernetes-based cloud environment on AWS for a short-term project.

MUST HAVES

• 5+ years of DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Engineering experience.
• 4+ years supporting Kubernetes in production environments.
• Demonstrated experience deploying and operating AWS-hosted applications.
• Experience leading technical implementation efforts with minimal supervision.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes, EKS, and Helm.
• Strong experience with Argo CD and Service Mesh technologies.
• Strong experience with ingress controllers, container networking, storage and persistence, and cluster operations and upgrades.
• Strong experience with AWS services, including VPC, EC2, EKS, IAM, Route 53, ALB/NLB, RDS, CloudWatch, S3, Secrets Manager, and Systems Manager Parameter Store.
• Experience with GitLab, GitLab CI/CD, GitOps workflows, Infrastructure as Code, and Terraform.
• Experience with Bash, Python, or Go.

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience with one or more of the following CNCF ecosystem technologies: Cilium, Hubble, Prometheus, Grafana, Fluent Bit, OpenTelemetry, Karpenter, Crossplane, Kyverno, Tetragon, ExternalDNS, and cert-manager.
