Job summary

GenLogs is a transportation-technology company building the next generation of truck intelligence. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help create scalable systems using AI, sensors, and datasets to track millions of trucks and advance freight visibility.

You will shape architecture, mentor teammates, and deliver high-quality features on a continuous release cadence while collaborating with product, data, and engineering teams across a remote, distributed setup.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-stack software experience on high transactional distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript tech such as Flask, React, HTML/CSS.
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks is a plus.
• Expert-level SQL with ability to design schemas and optimize queries.
• Experience designing and implementing APIs.
• Strong understanding of database design and OO concepts.
• Experience with robust, multi-tiered, scalable architectures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Effectiveness working in a remote, distributed team.
• English proficiency is required.

Responsibilities

• Build core platform experiences including ReactJS portals and Flask-based APIs.
• Integrate diverse data sources into the platform.
• Develop tools, automation, and test infrastructure to improve reliability.
• Contribute to production and QA infrastructure for stability and scalability.
• Shape software architecture and design decisions for complex systems.
• Collaborate with product, data engineering, and data science teams.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Write clean, maintainable code aligned with engineering standards.
• Conduct thoughtful code reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues with urgency and ownership.
• Stay current with modern engineering tools and propose stack improvements.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers.
