Job summary

Lifted, an Upwork Company, is seeking a Senior FinOps Analyst to advise engineering and R&D teams on cloud spending, investigate cost anomalies, and identify actionable optimization opportunities. You will serve as a primary partner-facing resource for APAC-based teams, aligning cloud spending with forecasts and measurable business outcomes through cost analysis, education, and proactive engagement.

Enterprise experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Senior FinOps experience with cloud cost management and optimization.
• Proven ability to investigate spending anomalies and document root causes.
• Experience advising R&D or engineering teams in a partner-facing role.
• Forecasting cloud costs and aligning central forecasts with team plans.
• Familiarity with OpenAI/LLM cost drivers and monitoring.
• Ability to model and track team investments or projects.
• Proficient in Jira and Slack for investigations and communications.
• Experience maintaining technical docs or wiki spaces and recurring reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication to engage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary contact for engineering teams seeking cloud cost guidance, responding in real time via Slack and other channels.
• Proactively engage high-spending R&D teams to review monthly cloud spending and identify optimization opportunities.
• Capture meeting notes, recommendations, and cost patterns; document investigations in Jira.
• Monitor cloud and AI/LLM spending for anomalies, spikes, and inefficiencies.
• Investigate variances, produce root-cause analyses, and recommend opportunities to team owners.
• Participate in monthly forecasting by reconciling forecasts with team projections and documenting discrepancies.
• Contribute practitioner insights to Showback reporting and spending reviews; educate across teams.
• Audit and update technical wiki content and documentation; model team cost projections.
