EPAM Systems Inc is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to guide the platform transition, retire legacy applications, and strengthen MCP Hosting Infra and AI Marketplace. You will set technical direction, drive automation, and elevate engineering standards while mentoring peers across global teams.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership of migrations, robust observability, and scalable credential management. English proficiency at B2+ is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Experience leading technical initiatives end-to-end, including migrations or decommissions.
• Strong expertise in AWS, Terraform, and EKS, with solid Kubernetes experience preferred.
• Solid background in monitoring and observability practices.
• Experience building authentication or credential-management systems with OAuth2, or running them at scale.
• Experience designing on-call and support processes, not just participating.
• Proven ability to mentor others and make practical trade-offs.
• English proficiency at a B2+ level.

Responsibilities

• Lead the spin-down of two applications, including migration plans and decommissioning.
• Shape the architecture and reliability of MCP Hosting Infra (Kubernetes on AWS).
• Drive ongoing development of AI Marketplace.
• Establish the support automation strategy and tracking metrics for bot resolution.
• Set standards for Terraform, observability, runbooks, and on-call practices.
• Analyze bot escalations and convert into automation initiatives.
• Mentor mid-level engineers through reviews and pairing sessions.
• Serve as escalation point for complex incidents and cross-team requests.
• Collaborate with product and other teams to prioritize work and align expectations.
