Robots & Pencils, an applied AI engineering firm, seeks a Senior Cloud Architect to design and deliver multi-domain systems spanning cloud, data, and AI. You will own meaningful components, contribute to architecture decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship production-grade AI-enabled solutions.

You will work on cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and AI/ML workloads, guiding design choices, implementation, and governance while mentoring engineers and ensuring scalable,

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with architectural decision-making
• Strong backend proficiency in Python and at least one of Java/Scala/TypeScript
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures
• Hands-on experience with microservices, serverless, containerization, and event-driven systems
• Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines
• Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, plus data pipelines and ETL/ELT concepts
• Familiarity with AI/ML system design, including MLOps and LLM integration
• Awareness of security, networking, identity, and access management fundamentals in cloud environments
• Understanding of security, compliance, and observability fundamentals (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2)
• Demonstrable use of AI-forward tools such as Claude and Cursor

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to architectural design across cloud, data, and AI/ML systems
• Build and integrate cloud-native solutions including microservices and containerized workloads
• Implement infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines
• Design data architectures including pipelines, warehouses, and modeling
• Support AI/ML system design including model serving and MLOps
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability across deployments
• Apply AI-forward tools to ship higher-quality work efficiently
• Collaborate with engineers, data, AI, and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Maintain architecture documentation for reproducibility and onboarding
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback
