Bluelight is seeking a Business Analyst to translate business problems into clear, buildable requirements. You’ll sit between clients, product, and engineers: running discovery, mapping processes, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, and ensuring solutions address the problem.

You’ll work across client builds, maintenance engagements, and internal products, shaping scope, estimates, and backlog priorities with a focus on quality and SOC 2 considerations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Business Analyst or similar on software projects.
• Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in an agile/Scrum environment.
• Proven ability to run discovery sessions and turn ambiguous input into structured requirements.
• Comfort with process mapping and data modeling at a business level.
• Hands-on experience with Jira; familiarity with Figma and collaborative docs.
• Excellent written and spoken English; comfortable leading client meetings with U.S. stakeholders.
• Enough technical literacy to converse with engineers about APIs, integrations, databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder interviews and workshops with clients and internal teams to understand goals, workflows and pain points.
• Document current-state and future-state processes, business rules, data definitions and edge cases.
• Support new-project sizing by breaking scope into epics and stories for engineering estimates.
• Identify assumptions, risks, dependencies, and open questions early and push for resolution.
• Write clear user stories with testable acceptance criteria in Jira.
• Partner with the Product Manager to prioritize and groom the backlog ahead of each sprint.
• Work with UI/UX design in Figma to ensure flows match requirements and flag gaps before development.
• Answer engineering questions during the sprint and keep requirements current as decisions are made.
• Collaborate with QA to translate acceptance criteria into test coverage.
• Support sprint demos and coordinate user acceptance testing with clients.
• Keep requirements docs organized in Google Drive for easy reference.
• Capture compliance, security, and audit requirements (SOC 2 etc.) as explicit needs.
• Act as a trusted contact for clients on scope and requirements questions.
• Translate between business and technical audiences clearly and without jargon.
