Monks is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Node and TypeScript. You will own APIs, data models, and infrastructure decisions in a fast-paced, AI‑driven consulting environment.

You will collaborate with clients and product teams, review AI-generated code for quality, and ensure correctness, observability, and performance. Experience with PostgreSQL, AWS, and distributed systems is essential.

Formación

• 5+ years in backend development with strong Node/TypeScript.
• Solid REST API design and implementation.
• Strong PostgreSQL and relational data modeling.
• Experience building on AWS (e.g. Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3).
• A good grasp of service architecture and distributed systems.
• Good testing habits.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, agile consulting environment.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain scalable services in Node / TypeScript.
• Design and implement REST (and where it fits, GraphQL) APIs.
• Model data and safeguard its integrity and performance in PostgreSQL.
• Review code, including AI-generated code, for quality and consistency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues.
• Contribute to the team's standards, tooling, and architecture.
