Alignerr is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (AI Infrastructure) to design and scale the platforms behind cutting-edge AI products. This fully remote hourly contract role offers 20–40 hours per week, with autonomy to drive impactful architectural decisions and deliver production-grade systems.

You will work across Python, TypeScript, and other modern languages, building APIs, data pipelines, and backend services that operate reliably at scale in cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, Java, or similar.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system design principles.
• Experience building and deploying backend services, APIs, or data-intensive applications.
• Comfortable with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized environments.
• Familiar with Git, CI/CD workflows, and modern development tooling.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with ambiguity.
• Excellent written communication and async collaboration.
• Self-directed and reliable with minimal supervision.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade software systems that support AI training, evaluation, and deployment pipelines.
• Write clean, well-tested, and performant code in Python, TypeScript, or other modern languages.
• Build and optimize APIs, data pipelines, and backend services that operate reliably at scale.
• Architect solutions balancing speed of delivery with maintainability.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate asynchronously with ML engineers, researchers, and product managers.
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Work independently on well-scoped projects with ownership and autonomy.
