Intellias in Colombia is hiring a backend engineer to shape scalable Python services using FastAPI and async patterns. You will build high-performance APIs, design MongoDB data models, and integrate with healthcare and identity platforms.

The role emphasizes secure auth (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT), CI/CD, and AI-assisted development to boost productivity. The position offers an indefinite contract, 100% remote work with internet subsidy, and Colombian payroll.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong Python (3.11/3.12+) and modern backend development practices.
• Hands-on with asynchronous apps using FastAPI and async/await.
• RESTful design, distributed systems, microservices, and scalability.
• Production MongoDB experience; Beanie ODM or similar async ODM.
• Authentication tech: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, and IDP integrations.
• Docker-based development and deployment; Docker Compose familiarity.
• Automated testing with Pytest; CI/CD pipelines & DevOps workflows.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience reviewing AI-generated code with solid engineering judgment.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services with Python and FastAPI.
• Build high-performance APIs and microservices for secure data exchange.
• Model and optimize MongoDB data models for high-volume workloads.
• Integrate with healthcare and identity platforms, cloud storage, and services.
• Implement secure authentication/authorization using OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery while upholding quality.
• Collaborate on architecture decisions, code reviews, and best practices.
• Write tests and ensure platform observability, reliability, and performance.
