Job summary

Clara Lending Co. in Latin America seeks a Fullstack/Backend Engineer focused on QA Automation to build the infrastructure, frameworks, APIs, and tooling that enable automated quality across Clara. This is an engineering craft role, closer to SDET/SET than traditional QA.

You will own automation infra, tooling, and AI-assisted QA initiatives, collaborating with QA leads, pod teams and product engineers to ship reusable, scalable automation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development experience with automation or developer-tooling delivery.
• Experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks (web and API).
• Backend fundamentals: REST APIs, relational databases, authentication basics.
• Fullstack internal tools: React/Next.js dashboards for test management.
• CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions), Docker familiarity, and Git collaboration.
• Ability to diagnose flaky tests and environment issues systematically.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain automation infrastructure and shared testing frameworks.
• Build backend APIs and fullstack components to store test cases and results.
• Integrate with delivery workflows: Linear, Slack, GitHub Actions.
• Enable AI-assisted QA through stable contracts and test generation workflows.
• Harden CI/CD pipelines for smoke and regression suites and reduce flakiness.
• Promote high-quality test code with reviews and documentation.
