BairesDev is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer (Python) to shape backend architecture for a scalable platform serving millions of users. This hands-on leadership role involves end-to-end ownership of features, collaboration with product and design, and guiding architectural decisions that scale with the business.

We value a strong Python background, extensive AWS Serverless experience, and expertise in microservices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience with strong Python expertise.
• Hands-on AWS Serverless experience (Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, API Gateway).
• Experience with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB databases.
• Proficiency in designing microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform).
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

Principal Backend Engineer (Python) at BairesDev

In this role, you'll shape the backend architecture behind products serving millions of collectors worldwide. This is a hands-on leadership position where your architectural decisions directly determine how well the platform scales as the business grows. This is your opportunity to own complete features from design through deployment, working closely with product and design partners.

What We Are Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in backend engineering, with strong proficiency in Python.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Serverless (Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, API Gateway).
• Background in PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Proficiency in microservices and event-driven architecture.
