Pond & Company is seeking an experienced Plumbing/Piping Engineer with Data Center experience to join our Bogotá, Colombia team. You will help design and deliver mission-critical mechanical systems for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centers, ensuring resilient and sustainable cooling infrastructure for continuous operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years in mechanical engineering, with data center or mission-critical projects.
• Knowledge of chilled water, DX, cooling towers, pumps, hydronic and air distribution systems.
• Experience preparing engineering calculations, specifications and construction documents.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD; ability to produce docs and calculations.
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary coordination skills.
• Bilingual English and Spanish.

Position Summary

Pond is seeking an experienced Plumbing/Piping Engineer with Data Center experience to join our growing team in Bogotá, Colombia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the design and delivery of mission-critical mechanical systems for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centers. This individual will play a key role in developing efficient, resilient, and sustainable cooling and mechanical infrastructure that supports continuous operations in critical environments.

The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout all phases of project delivery, from planning and conceptual design through construction support, commissioning, and facility turnover.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the plumbing and piping systems design for data centers and other mission-critical facilities.
• Develop mechanical calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical, structural, civil, architectural, and telecommunications disciplines.
• Participate in model and design reviews, and quality assurance processes.
• Support construction administration activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, site observations, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout project execution.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including direct involvement in data center or mission-critical facility projects.
• Knowledge of chilled water systems, direct expansion (DX) systems, cooling towers, pumps, hydronic systems, and air distribution systems.
• Experience preparing engineering calculations, technical specifications, and construction documents.
• Proficiency with engineering and design software such as Revit Proficiency with engineering and design software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
• Professional-level proficiency in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license, Colombian professional registration, or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or large-scale cloud data center developments.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE Thermal Guidelines, ASHRAE standards, International Mechanical Code (IMC), International Building Code (IBC), and applicable local regulations.
• Experience with liquid cooling technologies, high-density computing environments, and emerging data center cooling solutions.
• Experience with commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and facility operational readiness programs.
• Proficiency with engineering and design software such as CADWorx, AutoCAD plant 3D and inventor.
• Familiarity with BIM/Revit workflows and multidisciplinary coordination processes.
• Experience working with international clients and globally distributed project teams.
