Equinix, Inc. in Bogotá, Colombia, seeks a Network Implementation Expert to design, implement, and optimize enterprise and data center networks in hybrid environments.

You will act as the technical authority, driving secure, scalable infrastructure and contributing to automation and operational excellence. The role requires strong routing, switching, SDN, and cloud networking knowledge, with experience across Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and multi-vendor fabrics.

• Support incident resolution and complex troubleshooting when required.

Job Summary

The Network Implementation Expert is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced network infrastructures for enterprise and data center customers. This role serves as a technical authority for complex network deployments in hybrid environments, ensuring secure, scalable, and highly available solutions. The position contributes directly to operational excellence, automation initiatives, and the successful delivery of mission‑critical customer projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead the implementation of enterprise‑grade network solutions in data center and hybrid environments.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex network architectures, configurations, and integrations.
• Provide technical leadership during critical implementation phases, migrations, and transformations.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.
• Drive automation and optimization initiatives to improve network reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with customers and cross‑functional teams to deliver tailored, high‑quality network solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing network environments.
• Support incident resolution and complex troubleshooting activities when required.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• Strong experience in network engineering within enterprise and/or data center environments.
• Proven ability to design, implement, and support highly available, secure, and resilient network infrastructures.

Technical Skills

Routing & Switching

• Advanced proficiency with enterprise‑grade switches and routers (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or equivalent).
• Deep understanding of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and related technologies.

Data Center Networking

• Experience with software‑defined networking and fabric‑based architectures such as Cisco ACI and VMware NSX.
• Experience integrating multi‑vendor network environments.

Security & Firewalls

• Advanced knowledge of firewall platforms such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco ASA.
• Experience with VPN technologies, including site‑to‑site and client‑to‑site connectivity.
• Familiarity with IDS/IPS solutions and network security best practices.

High Availability

• Expertise in redundancy and failover protocols ,including HSRP, VRRP, and GLBP.

Monitoring & Performance

• Strong understanding of Quality of Service (QoS) and traffic prioritization.
• Experience with monitoring and performance tools such as SolarWinds, Zabbix, or Nagios.

Cloud & Hybrid Networking

• Knowledge of hybrid cloud networking across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with cloud‑native networking services, including load balancers, virtual gateways, and cloud security configurations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Python, and Terraform.
• Industry‑recognized certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with MPLS and SD‑WAN technologies.
• Additional certifications related to networking, cloud, or cybersecurity.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Advanced certifications and postgraduate studies are considered a plus.
