You will own end-to-end solutions, modernize legacy systems, and collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, and Engineering Leadership to define roadmaps and ensure high-quality, secure software delivery.

Lead, IT Software Developer IV Location: Bogotá, Colombia

World Kinect is seeking a highly skilled Lead, IT Software Developer IV to drive technical excellence and innovation within our aviation flight planning domain. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on solving complex engineering challenges, developing business-critical solutions, mentoring engineers, and helping shape the technical direction of our products.

What You'll Do

• Build and Deliver Business-Critical Solutions Design, develop, and implement complex, high-impact features and systems from architecture through production deployment.
• Own technical solutions end-to-end using Agile methodologies and sprint-based development.
• Build proof-of-concepts and prototypes to evaluate new approaches and technologies.
• Lead efforts to modernize, refactor, and optimize legacy applications and frameworks.
• Shape Technical Direction Partner with Architects, Product Owners, and Engineering Leadership to define technical roadmaps and future-state solutions.
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations that align engineering decisions with business objectives.
• Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges.
• Drive Engineering Excellence Champion software quality through robust testing, code coverage, code reviews, and development best practices.
• Promote secure development practices and proactively address security vulnerabilities.
• Support and improve CI/CD processes, deployment automation, and engineering efficiency.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Elevate the Team Serve as a technical resource and mentor for other engineers.
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure high standards across the team.
• Help establish engineering patterns, practices, and standards that improve consistency and quality.
• Act as a technical leader by influencing decisions, unblocking teammates, and driving collaboration across teams.
