EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer (AWS) in Colombia to architect and implement high-performing serverless platforms. In this role, you will work with multi-national teams, optimizing development workflows and ensuring reliability within AWS. The ideal candidate possesses over 5 years of experience with AWS technologies, including Lambda and API Gateway, and has at least 1 year of leadership experience. We are looking for a Lead Cloud Engineer (AWS) to shape and evolve high‑performing serverless platforms on Amazon Web Services at scale.

You will design, implement, and refine AWS architectures while partnering with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable outcomes aligned with best practices in serverless design, so apply now.

Responsibilities

• Architect and roll out serverless solutions on AWS using Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and Step Functions
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to capture needs and turn them into actionable technical designs
• Design robust, reusable software that follows serverless architecture principles
• Optimize and automate development and operational workflows to improve scalability and efficiency
• Execute thorough testing to confirm functionality and remediate issues as they appear
• Document configurations, development workflows, and system changes in detail while following best practices
• Implement and manage infrastructure via Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CDK and Terraform
• Establish observability practices including logging, metrics, and tracing to maintain performance and reliability
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to design, build, and deliver new features and ensure smooth handover for ongoing support

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• Hands‑on experience of 5+ years building serverless applications with AWS technologies
• Proven experience of 1+ years in a leadership role, guiding teams and ensuring project delivery
• Strong proficiency with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and Step Functions to create scalable applications
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK and Terraform, plus Jenkins pipelines and GitHub Actions
• Deep knowledge of observability practices including logging, metrics, and tracing to safeguard system health and performance
• Advanced analytical ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with stakeholders and team members
• Ability to convert business goals into effective technical solutions
• Fluent English proficiency (written and spoken) at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

• AWS certifications focused on serverless architecture or application development
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and microservices architecture to improve delivery and scalability
