EPAM Systems Colombia seeks a Lead Python Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable backend services using Python and modern cloud platforms.

You will own API and microservice development, shaping architecture and ensuring reliability, performance and security across production systems. Collaborate with DevOps, QA, product and engineering teams, mentor engineers, and drive best practices in CI/CD, testing and code quality while leveraging AWS, Azure or GCP.

Formación

• Solid background in Python backend development.
• Familiarity with FastAPI, Flask or Django.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Proven track record building REST APIs and microservices.
• Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Exposure to CI/CD, testing and modern software engineering practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

We are seeking a Lead Python Engineer who brings strong backend development expertise along with a solid grasp of cloud-native solutions. The right candidate will be capable of designing, building and maintaining scalable backend services through Python and modern cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services and APIs with Python
• Architect scalable cloud-based solutions and microservices
• Handle databases, queues, cloud services and integrations
• Partner with DevOps, QA, product and engineering teams
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technical decision-making
• Maintain code quality, security, performance and reliability
• Assist with deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting of production systems

Requirements

• Solid background in Python backend development
• Familiarity with frameworks like FastAPI, Flask or Django
• Practical experience using AWS, Azure or GCP
• Proven track record building REST APIs and microservices
• Sound knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Exposure to CI/CD, testing and modern software engineering practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Background in serverless architectures
• Work with data pipelines or event-driven architectures
• Understanding of Terraform or infrastructure as code
