EPAM Systems is seeking a Java Developer in Colombia to join a global engineering team. You will build and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs, while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver scalable features.

The role emphasizes clean code, testing, and secure API development, with opportunities to work on cloud-enabled systems and modern tooling.

Formación

• 2+ years of practical Java experience with OOP.
• preserve apis and REST API design knowledge.
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Working knowledge of MySQL and ability to tune queries.
• Familiarity with design patterns and clean code.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts.
• Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to interpret logs and monitor live systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork; English at least B2.

Responsabilidades

• Develop backend services in Java with Spring Boot.
• Design and improve REST APIs for mobile apps and external integrations.
• Work with MySQL data modeling, queries, and optimization.
• Contribute to backend and microservices architecture for scale and maintainability.
• Write secure, well-tested code and fix production issues.
• Review code, provide estimates, and participate in design discussions.
• Collaborate with mobile, product, QA, and other backend engineers to deliver features.
• Support automated testing, monitoring, and logging practices.
