The ideal candidate will have experience working in seismic and non-seismic regions and will be comfortable applying international and local structural codes to complex, technically demanding projects.

Experience with data centers or other mission-critical facilities is highly desirable. However, we also welcome candidates with relevant experience in industrial, manufacturing, logistics, energy, power, oil and gas, airport, or other large-scale facilities.

The successful candidate will support and, depending on experience, lead structural design activities from conceptual planning and preliminary design through construction documentation, construction administration, and project closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or support the design and analysis of structural systems for industrial, mission-critical, and commercial facilities.
  • Design steel buildings and structural systems, including braced frames, moment frames, platforms, equipment supports, mezzanines, and ancillary structures.
  • Design and analyze reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundation systems.
  • Evaluate structural systems for both seismic and non-seismic conditions, including wind, gravity, equipment, thermal, and other applicable loads.
  • Perform structural analysis and design for equipment foundations, rooftop equipment, generator yards, mechanical systems, industrial equipment, and critical infrastructure.
  • Design or review steel connections, base plates, anchor rods, embeds, and other critical interface elements.
  • Prepare structural calculations, design criteria, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate structural designs with architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, and equipment disciplines.
  • Apply applicable international and local codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC (Both 360 and 341), ACI 318, and Colombian NSR-10.
  • Participate in design reviews, interdisciplinary coordination, constructability reviews, and quality-control processes.
  • Perform structural assessments, field investigations, condition evaluations, and renovation or retrofit studies.
  • Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, responses to technical queries, and site observations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, contractors, and technical teams throughout project execution.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to the development of project standards and best practices.
  • Support project managers in maintaining schedules, budgets, quality, and technical deliverables.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive structural engineering experience; candidates with exceptional relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and analyzing industrial steel buildings or other complex steel structures.
  • Experience with structural design in seismic and non-seismic regions.
  • Strong understanding of steel, reinforced concrete, and foundation design principles.
  • Experience with structural analysis and design software such as STAAD, ETABS, SAP2000, Ram Connections, RISA, IDEA StatiCa or similar tools.
